MENPVCC Men of Color Association student club is launched. The Male Empowerment Network (M.E.N.) program goal is to proactively connect male students from diverse backgrounds together, encouraging academic success, learning and a sense of belonging within the college environment.

Diversity, Inc.Diversity, Incorporated is developed on campus as a student leadership and inclusion program, working to promote inclusivity in the community and student development through their award-winning COM 101 Mosaic series for students. The program was honored with the 2011-2012 award for Multi-Cultural program of the year at PVCC.

Professor of the YearThe Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching named PVCC professor, Lois Roma-Deeley, English faculty and Creative Writing Program Director, a 2012 Professor of the Year. She is one of four honorees chosen from over 300 distinguished professors nationwide.

A New Student CenterThe KSC Building re-opens after a renovation of the 59,500 square foot building and 11,500 square foot expansion, creating a new one-stop enrollment center, renovated student union and Student Life space as well as newly designed community meeting spaces.

Aspen Institute AwardPVCC is named in the top 150 community colleges nationwide, placing it within the top 10% ranking.

Festival of LightsA Diwali event was held on campus, to align with the beginning of the Hindu new year. The event showcased the food, dancing and music of India through performances, speakers and vendors to increase awareness of Indian culture.

10 years of Relay for LifePVCC is honored by the American Cancer Society in recognition of community service for hosting the Relay for Life- North Valley for the past 10 years.

HLC VisitThe Higher Learning Commission (HLC) peer review team visits campus. PVCC used a superhero theme to represent the HLC five major criteria for accreditation: Major Mission, Iron Integrity, Quality Queen, Electric Evaluation and Planner Patrona.

Club ZPVCC forms Club Zeitgeist, known as "Club Z" to help students be successful in their personal lives and careers. Students are encouraged to develop entrepreneur skills through awards and recognition.

Women RisingThe Women Rising group is formed on campus to support and empower female students through engagement, leadership, networking, mentorship and activities.

Veteran's CenterAn open house is held to celebrate the new Veteran's Services office on campus. Student Veterans at PVCC now have a space to study, access resources and socialize. The event also honored General Carl Schneider (USAF Ret.), who served 30 years as a commander and pilot and advocated for student Veterans, mentoring students and provided his personal library collection to the office.

Aspen Institute AwardPVCC is again named in the top 10% of community colleges nationwide, marking the second consecutive win of this bi-annual award.

Aquila HallRibbon Cutting Ceremony was held for Aquila Hall at Black Mountain; this campus will serve the Cave Creek, Carefree, North Scottsdale and North Phoenix communities with 3 classrooms, 2 science labs, a science classroom, computer lab, tutoring center, telescope and viewing deck.
