    Nursing Assistant Program

    October 2002- PVCC is certified by the Arizona State Board of Nursing to offer a Nursing Assistant Program which began this fall in conjunction with Paradise Valley Hospital.

    PAWS the Puma

    February 2003- Paradise Valley Community College names their Puma mascot: "PAWS" by a vote of students, faculty and staff.

    Additional athletic teams and facilities are introduced, culminating with Women’s Fast Pitch Softball Team's First Game – Dr. Gina Kranitz throws out pitch, February 1, 2003.

    Summer 2003- PVCC Child Development Center achieved national accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

    Dr. Mary Kay Kickels appointed as PVCC’s president, September 1, 2004.

    Shoenhair Soccer Field

    Dedication of the Cindy Shoenhair Soccer Field, October 13, 2004.  Cindy was a PVCC Fitness and Health faculty member who passed away in October 2001.

    Time to Grow

    Citizens pass $951 million bond program.  PVCC receives $72 million dollars for new construction, remodeling and the expansion of PVCC North.

    Higher Learning Commission awards PVCC another 10-year accreditation, March 2, 2005.

    PVCC North Black Mountain offers courses in the Carefree/Cave Creek area.

  • CPA Opening

    CPA Opening

    Center for the Performing Arts Opening, October 13, 2005. The new state of the art facility includes theater space with and orchestra pit, seating for up to 300 patrons, as well as an art gallery space in the lobby and music classrooms.

    Paramedic Graduation

    First EMT Graduation ceremony is held for 24 Paramedics. 11-17-06

    L Building

    Ribbon Cutting and Open House is held for the new L Building, January 12, 2007. The 4,500 square foot modular building will house offices, support spaces and skills labs for Nursing, Fire Science/EMT and Athletics programs as well as the Facility Services office.
